Home Sales & Rentals & Building, Oh My
Home sales in Charlotte County remained very strong in July & August, the average home price now over the $400K record. Single homes, condos & townhouses were selling for 100% of the asking price. Average sale prices in August were higher than June/July and 34.9% higher than July 2020. Vacation rentals had a strong summer, a record-breaking July. New-home building and sales remained high, even as building supplies still trickle in.
Sunseeker construction swings into action
3 of the 6 cranes were swinging Sept 1 at the Sunseeker Resort construction site. After 17 idle months, Allegiant Travel restarted the $510M project, presumably having closed on a $350M loan mentioned in August.
Industrial Growth at the Airport
With the completion of a 40K square foot building, businesses interested in moving to Southwest FL will have business space to call home.
Interested tenants can lease the whole building or only the space they need.
Aviation Maintenance Facility at PGD
A Fort-Myers based aviation company is close to signing a lease to build a mechanics facility on 66 acres on the northeast side of the PG Airport. Blackbird Aviation & PGD spokesperson Kaley Miller have confirmed the negotiations.
Allegiant will fly to Austin TX & Bentonville, AR
Starting Nov 18, Allegiant Air will offer longer distance flights to 2 new cities from Punta Gorda Airport. For Floridians, Austin offers a great getaway for its eclectic live-music venues for country, blues and rock or a UT football game. Bentonville is the home of Walmart, but more importantly, a hub for travelers from the quad-state area of AR, MO, OK & KA.
Sports Events Bring Visitors to Charlotte County
In June, 3 sports tournaments brought state-wide visitors to compete and vacation locally. The US Amateur Basketball Boys & Girls State Championship, USSSA Prostyle Baseball Charlotte Crown, & the USSSA Prostyle Baseball Independence Battle. 2400+ athletes competing; the events generated 2000+ hotel “room-nights” and sales to area businesses.
The Punta Gorda Chamber of Commerce follows all relevant COVID-19 protocols.
