Mission: To advance the revitalization of downtown by supporting and promoting existing businesses and new businesses. Working for development that is pedestrian friendly and presents an overall image of quality.
Where: The area of Punta Gorda covered by the Downtown Merchants Association is from the Peace River south to Charlotte Avenue, MLK Boulevard on the east to Harvey Street on the west.
Why: Our aim is to be pro-active with our City Fathers in helping them make the right choices in getting us moving more quickly and in the right direction.

Third Thursday Wine Walk
It’s a downtown tradition! Effective September 20th, 2018, the evening’s festivities will be called Third Thursday Wine Walk. In order to bring something new and fresh to Third Thursday, the merchants will be presenting “Wine Walk” to encourage guests to visit their stores as well as sample new wines. Restaurants are encouraged to present wine specials that same evening.
To participate in the Wine Walk, you need to purchase a $10 ticket prior to the event from the Punta Gorda Chamber located at 252 W Marion Avenue. Tickets will also be available in front of the Chamber on the night of the event. This “passport” will be accompanied by a map of all participating merchants who are offering wine sampling. We estimate that 10-15 merchants will be offering wine samplings. Stroll through some or all of them, enjoy a variety of wine tastings at each location and see what they have to offer. Also, where you buy your “passport” ticket, you’ll be able to visit and meet with the non-profit groups attending the evening.
The fun starts at 5pm and runs through 8pm every Third Thursday! If you are a non-profit and want to participate in future Third Thursday Wine Walks, please contact us A.S.A.P at (941) 639-3720 to get an application. Call soon, some months are nearly sold out. The “non-profit street” was created to address concerns about over-crowding of streets during this permitted event and to make sure we were meeting our event obligations to the city. See you on the Third Thursday as we gear up for even larger crowds later in the year!

Opened in the Fall of 2010 in the Herald Court Centre. Different artisans are in-house, working right before your eyes. These artisans are available to answer your questions as well as sell their works. The Atelier operates from 11 am to 5 pm, Monday through Saturday, and is open on Third Thursday nights until 8 pm.
