Drug Free Punta Gorda

Project Coordinator is key personnel, 30 hours per week for coordination of coalition services and Drug Free Communities project activities.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and attends meetings of the coalition. 
  • Recruits and retains community members from key sectors for the Drug Free Punta Gorda Coalition. 
  • Establish a volunteer base and maintain volunteer log. 
  • Serves as a representative of the Coalition with the community and at community events. 
  • Creates D-FY (Drug Free Youth) recruitment events, and generates membership/business partner involvement.
  • Develops and disseminates informational brochures and prevention activities.
  • Creates and Coordinates participant/volunteer activities in the development of prevention awareness campaigns.
  • Coordinates the activities of school-based substance abuse prevention. 
  • Works directly on campuses, performing middle and high school-aged social norm presentations, activities and regular poster displays.
  • Coordinates and assists with data collection, distribution and receipt of surveys with coalition partners.
  • Maintains records and files of surveys, coalition meetings and activities, and prepares all necessary reports as required by the grant.
  • Attends federally sponsored meetings, trainings with other recipients of program grant funds. 

Preferred knowledge, skills, abilities and attributes: 

  • Basic knowledge of the nature of drug, alcohol, and substance abuse 
  • Ability to plan, organize, implement, coordinate, and evaluate programs to meet the needs of the community 
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals, school and community-based organizations and agencies 
  • Ability to comprehend and follow federal and state grant regulation guidelines. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. 
  • Ability to work independently. 
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the essential functions of the position. 
  • Ability to effectively use computer applications such as MSOffice Suite. 
  • Good judgment, initiative, tact and courtesy.
  • Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.

Training and experience: 

Bachelor’s Degree OR equivalent experience Experience & enjoy working with teens. 

Special requirement: Possession of a valid driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle in Florida State. Must have own vehicle.

Title Processor Responsibilities:

  • Research and verify the accuracy of documentation such as property title records, property ownership, public records, deeds, leases, surveys, contracts, and agreements needed to produce a clear title
  • Enter and submit title and loan documents into software programs to track applicant’s progress
  • Liaise with transaction coordinator to be sure all items are complete, with settlement agent to ensure all settlement figures are correct, and with the post-closing agent to ensure the transaction is recorded and any outstanding issues are resolved
  • Work with title examiner and underwriter to prepare title insurance policy and binders and title commitments, and with loan closer to prepare real estate settlement statements
  • Ensure all closing instructions are followed as per the closing package, and coordinate with loan officer, mortgage loan processor, and underwriter to be sure all underwriting commitments have been satisfied
  • Aid title officers with administrative assistant essential duties, including clerical and data entry support

Title Processor Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required, some college preferred
  • Notary public certification is not required but is an asset
  • 1-3 years of experience with real estate transactions, title processing, title company pre-processor, or as a mortgage loan processor is desired
  • Superb research, communications, customer service, and analysis skills are desired
  • Computer proficient with numerous programs including MS Office is needed
